girl this is so beautiful—the metaphor works swimmingly w the topic. it reminds me of the pic of dorian gray. i saw this movie and i lovedddd it—will always be recommending it to other sapphics. in terms of ur metaphor-i think choosing to live, to take steps towards ourselves and the greater good, is essentially “watering our brushes”, if that makes sense. idk got me thinking. you’re an amazing writer 🥰🫶🤗❤️

So glad you watched Portrait of a Lady on Fire, it’s my favorite movie of all time! I love this piece too. In life, change is constant and consistent— to force yourself to stay the same or return to a version of yourself that you’ve outgrown for the sake of other people is a disservice to your future self.
